Ways We Move Assignmnet

 1) Jillian Frever: Sister's and Mothers Quarantine

This image that Jillian Frever took of her Mother and Sister spoke to me because of the closssness observed from the two subjects. In this photo you can see the mother hugging her daughter from behind so closely where her head is resting against her back and her arms wrap around her daughter to where their hands connect. The daughter is pressed againt the banister where there is no gap between her and her mother nor her and the ledge as well as her leaning over facing down. All of these components observed in this image indicates to me that this is a tight embrace shared between this Mother and daughter is what spoke to me in this image because it reflected a bond I feel I share with my mom. My mom is my best friend, my biggest supporter and someone I can turn to alwyas. By seeing this embrace I thought of my own relationship with my mom and I like to think the bond we share can be reflected as it has in this image.

This image is able to represent body movmenet as the daughter is leaning over the ledge which may be attributed to her mother ebracing her tightly from behind. This shows how our body can bend and mold to fit another person into it/directly next to us. Also we can see both the mother and duaghters fingers cureld up tightly around each other which shows us how our hands can extend and flex to shape and mold agianst different things and to interact with the world around us. Finally, the hair on both the mother and daughter are flowing in the same direction indicating wind may be present and our features suhch as hair haev the ability to dispaly movement as well.

I believe that Frever wanted capture a feeling of love and trust with this photo. The angle she took it at shows how the daughter is steeply leanning over the eldge with her mom having a tight grip around her through this photo you can began to emulate the feeling of trust. In addition, a back hug can be considered one that shows you have a lot of trust in someone because its a vulnerable position. When yuo hug someone from the side yuo are not really giving them a full embrace and when you hug someone from the front yuo can see them and know that it is coming but a back hug is inntimate abd vulnerable as you cannot see it and just  have the feeling someone is there. Their tight hand hold also inndicates a feeling a love to me because that shows that a body hug wasn't enough they need to embrace each other even tighter. This photo is beautuful, vulberable and filled with a feeling of love and trust.

2) Camilo Fuentealba Costco photo:

This image taken in Coscto by Fuentealba spoke to me because of the subjects positioning over the shopping cart along with her outfit and the isle she was in. In this photo I see a woman appearing dressed down in sweat pants, hair tied up, glasses and a mask with her cart extend out in front of her, her head and upper body facing down towrds the ground with a long stride. This spoke to me becasue it appears as if the woman is tired and sort of drained by her body movment and her attire. She is also walking through a medicine isle which could be couincidental or it could attribute some sort of answetr to tired and drained appereance.

This photo of this woman represents body movement due to her extend arms and the long stride in her legs. Walking is something that many people are able to do and this photo captured a woman walking but with certain exaggerated movement which gave it character and allowed us to see some sort of dace-like movment in an everyday activty. She is pushing a shpooing cart but by having her arms extended out, her fingers hanging over the cart and her long stride we can see this womans' body telling a pontential story of how she feels and the connection between mind, body and emotions.

I beleive the photgrapher wanted to capture the feleing of disspair with this in addition to the general experience of life with this image. I bleive the feeling of disspair is being captured as the woman's body movement sort of emualtes how their is an imaginary weight pushing down from abover her sinking her head and upper body faced down into the ground. The weight is pushing down but she is trying to outrun it with her long strides as well as hold herself up from the cart with her extended arms. There is almost a cloud that puts a shadow over this woman and us the viewers can intterpret this feling of disspair. The photographer also captyres the genral experience of life because we all have things we are struggling with either emotionally, physically or metnally than can all have an apparent affect on our health and wellbeing. Despite us not being our best or not in our right state, the world keeps spinning and there are things we must do. This woman may be hurting but yet  she must continue to go shopping to live and survuve. Someotimes all we can do is survive.

3) Noah Sahady Woman Rock Climbing Photo:

This photo of a woman rock climbing outside with no harness or anything spoke to me because it made me feel proud to be a woman. This photo was taken from behind the woman to showcase her climbing and with it you can see her back muscle definition as she extend her arm up to pull herself up further. As a woman in our society a lot of the time we are put down we are trold constantly that we are not as strong as men, not as capable or to much of a "girl" to do men things. Rock climbing takes a loto fo strength both mentally and physically and this photo showed me a strong woman which made me feel umbeleivably proud and inspored as I want to push myself to do things I am not seen as "capable to do".

This photo represents body movement as this woman has her legs abducted out to the side to brace her body against this rock and give her a wider base of support for greater stability. In addition she also has her right arm extended out straight above her head. The body can move in ways that can display great levels of strength and resilience and this position that this woman is in does just that.

I beleive the photographer Sahadty wanted to capture a feeling of pride and strength. Due to the choice of putting this photo in balck and white she was playing with Tone and this was a way to bring definition to the muscles in her back. THis was important in encapsulating that feeling of strength as this woman held herself up against this rock. By the woman doing this in nature with no harness it also brings a sense of pride as we see this sunbject being brave and challanging herself. Through all this there is that sense of pride and strength caputred in this photograph.
